Deskrawl Max Level: Cap, After-70 Progress Explained
The Deskrawl max level is 70. Hitting it earns the Peak of Power achievement, opens the Paragon tab beside Talents and Life Skills, and moves all further progress onto Paragon levels instead of character levels and talent points.
This page covers the cap itself, what unlocks the moment you reach it, how Paragon progress works, why talent spending stops at 70, and where experience still comes from once every normal zone has fallen behind you.
- Cap: level 70 — confirmed by the Peak of Power achievement text.
- Paragon unlocks at 70 — 1 point per level, 15 stat lines, most capped at 50 points.
- Talent spending ends at 70 — the 15 talents gated at level 100 are empty and unreachable.
- Post-70 play lives in late zones, higher difficulties, and the Mythic Rift — every Rift enemy is level 70.
Read from the game's own shipped data files for the 1.0 launch build of 28 September 2026, cross-checked against the live achievement list and the community wiki. The live client has moved past launch patches since, so confirm anything load-bearing in your own client or on the Deskrawl store page.
The cap in one number: 70
Character level in Deskrawl stops at 70. The proof is the achievement text itself: Peak of Power is awarded for raising a character to level 70, and our achievements list tracks it at 0.5% of players, which makes it one of the ten rarest achievements in the game.
Official source: Deskrawl achievements, English — Peak of Power, read from the Steam achievement feed.
Two things that look like higher caps are not. Beta-era guides mention caps of 20, 25, or 35, and those numbers are stale demo and test limits, not the 1.0 game. The fifteen talents gated behind level 100 look like a higher ceiling too, but every one of them is empty, with no stat, no effect, and no name in the game text. They are not a second climb waiting past 70. See the talents breakdown for the full roster.
How steep the road to 70 gets is measurable at five checkpoints from the shipped data:
| Checkpoint | Mobs needed to advance |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | 2 |
| Level 5 | 35 |
| Level 15 | 900 |
| Level 50 | 20,000 |
| Level 70 (cap) | 50,000 |
The cost of a level rises by four orders of magnitude across the run. That curve is why the last ten levels feel like a second game: the gap between level 50 and level 70 alone costs more kills than everything before it several times over. The zone order that keeps you inside paying maps all the way up is on our zones and level order guide.

What unlocks the moment you hit 70
Three things change at the cap, and only one of them is a new system.
1. The Paragon tab opens. It sits in the same panel as Talents and Life Skills, and the unlock message reads in full: "Reach the max level with any character to unlock Paragon." From here on, experience feeds Paragon levels instead of character levels. The life skills guide covers the neighboring tab if you have nodes unfinished when the cap arrives.
2. The Mythic Rift door becomes usable in practice. The Rift entry sits at level 70, inside the City of Veldak, and it is locked to the hardest difficulty, Inferno. You can stand at the door from the level 52 to 58 band onward, but the run itself is level-70 content: every enemy inside is pinned to level 70, flat across all 100 tiers. Entry costs, tier scaling, and what each tier pays are on our Mythic Rift guide.
3. Nothing else gates on level. Nightmare and Inferno unlock by clearing the final boss on the previous tier, not by reaching a level, and gear keeps upgrading on its own track toward +10. If you hit 70 before clearing the story, the story is still the next objective, not Paragon farming. Our difficulties and Inferno guide lists the exact gates and multipliers per tier.

How Paragon progress actually works
Paragon is a stat panel, not a second talent tree. It awards 1 point per level, holds 15 stat lines, and most of those lines cap at 50 points. You spend the points directly on raw stats, which makes Paragon the only post-cap lever that always moves your numbers.
The cost curve is the part to plan around. Our offline rewards guide records the two published ends of it: the first Paragon level costs 25,000 mobs, and the curve rises to 242,191 mobs by Paragon 50. That is roughly a tenfold increase across fifty levels, on top of a base cost that already equals half a character lifetime. Expect Paragon 1 to arrive slowly and Paragon 50 to take longer than 1 to 70 did.
Two account rules decide how Paragon behaves across characters:
| Setup | How Paragon behaves |
|---|---|
| Offline characters | The Paragon level is shared by all characters on the PC, and each character spends its own Paragon points |
| Online characters | The server holds your Paragon standing — whether it is unlocked, its level, and its experience — alongside your gold, level, difficulty, and cleared maps |
The offline rule comes from the community wiki entry for the game, which states both halves in one line. The online rule comes from the shipped game data: six records live on the server, and Paragon standing is one of them. Full detail on what the server stores is on our online mode guide.
Because offline characters share the Paragon level but spend points separately, a new character on the same PC inherits the level and makes its own choices. Check each character's panel before assuming last week's allocation is still the right one.
One honest gap: the per-line values behind Paragon stats are not published anywhere the game exposes, and no database agrees on them. What is exact is the structure — 15 lines, 1 point per level, 50-point caps on most lines — plus the two curve points above. For anything load-bearing, hover the line in your own panel, because the running client is the only authority on magnitudes.
Talent points after 70: the spending stops
Nothing in the talent panel progresses past the cap. All 185 talents unlock by character level, the last real row is the tier-3 capstone group at level 60, and the 16 talents in it each cost a single point. The 15 talents sitting at level 100 are unreachable shells, so level 70 leaves zero unspent talent capacity that matters.
That has two practical consequences. First, do not save talent points for after 70 — there is nothing to save them for, and holding points back only slows the climb through the 65 to 70 band of The Cinder Crown. Second, fix mistakes before the cap, not after, because the respec price never changes: right-clicking a talent refunds one point for 8 gold, left-clicking a new capstone transfers points across at the same rate, and refunding a full ten-point stat line costs 80 gold. The full arithmetic, including the capstone swap rule, is on our talents guide.
If gold for a late respec is the worry, early gold comes from the life-skills tree rather than from hoarding, and the farming routes are on our gold farming guide.
Where experience still comes from after 70
Past the cap, every normal map in the game is below you, so the six-level experience cutoff from our XP penalty guide applies to almost everything live. A mob six or more levels below your character pays zero experience while still dropping gold and gear. At level 70 that means every zone except the last is a gold farm on live maps. Three levers remain.
1. Farm at your level, not below it. The final band, The Cinder Crown at levels 65 to 70, is the only live window still inside six levels of a capped character. The zone order keeps you there; anything lower pays Paragon nothing on live kills.
2. Raise difficulty before changing maps. Nightmare multiplies experience by x1.5 and Inferno by x2, on top of whatever the gap test allows, and Inferno also grants two item levels per map level against Normal's zero. The multiplier sits on top of the cutoff, so treat it as the reliable half and the cutoff interaction as unconfirmed. Gates and enemy multipliers per tier are on our difficulties guide.
3. Let offline and the Rift do the heavy lifting. Offline payouts calculate from your highest unlocked area rather than the map you logged off on, capped at 8 hours per absence and extendable to 16, which is why idling past the cap keeps paying when live farming does not. The Rift never triggers the cutoff at all, because every enemy inside is level 70. Both escapes are detailed on our offline rewards guide and Mythic Rift guide.
The game prints no message when the cutoff bites — the Total EXP Earned counter simply stops. If it does not move after a full clear, you are six or more levels over the mobs, and no amount of repetition on that map will change it. Move up, raise difficulty, or log off and let offline pay from your highest zone.
What the game has never published
Straight about the gaps, because this is where filler usually goes:
- The Paragon value per point. Structure and caps are exact; magnitudes are not published.
- The full Paragon cost curve. Only the two ends are in the data: 25,000 mobs for the first level, 242,191 by Paragon 50.
- Whether the six-level cutoff changes with difficulty. The x1.5 and x2 multipliers are printed on the difficulty panel. The interaction between the cutoff and the multiplier is not.
- Experience per mob past 70. The game scales payouts off mob health and map level but prints no per-mob figure, so any hourly Paragon rate anywhere is a community measurement, not a game number.
FAQ
What is the Deskrawl max level?
Level 70. The Peak of Power achievement is awarded for raising a character to level 70, the final zone band runs 65 to 70, and nothing in the live game levels past it.
What unlocks at level 70 in Deskrawl?
The Paragon tab in the same panel as Talents and Life Skills, with the message "Reach the max level with any character to unlock Paragon." The Mythic Rift entry at level 70 also becomes usable in practice, locked to Inferno difficulty.
How does Paragon work after level 70?
You earn 1 Paragon point per Paragon level and spend them on 15 stat lines, most capped at 50 points. The first level costs 25,000 mobs and the cost rises to 242,191 mobs by Paragon 50. Offline characters share the Paragon level across the PC while each character spends its own points.
Do I keep earning talent points after level 70?
No. All 185 talents unlock by character level with the last real row at level 60, and the 15 talents gated at level 100 are empty shells with no stats or effects. Post-70 progress is Paragon stats, not talents.
Is level 70 the end of the game?
No. Clearing the story boss and hitting the cap are separate tasks — more accounts have killed the final boss than have reached level 70. After the cap, Inferno difficulty, Divine gear, rune sets, and the 100-tier Mythic Rift remain.
Where should I farm Paragon experience fastest?
Stay inside the six-level window: the 65 to 70 band on live maps, higher difficulties for the x1.5 and x2 multipliers, offline earnings from your highest unlocked area up to the 8 or 16 hour cap, and Rift runs where every enemy is level 70.
